Mythillogical is a concept album. All twelve songs are steeped in mystery and lore and it is up to the listener to draw their own conclusions. The listener is drawn into a private world to witness a battle between demons and goddesses. The enigmatic title track tells us that all the fairytales are dead but wait, in "Never A Lover", Ethereal admits to still believing in fairytales. The dichotomy of the battle continues on in "Athene" where the imprisoned deity breaks free of her sexual confinement and rejoices in her feminine energy. "Music Box" delves deep into the realm of the psyche where the heart of darkness lives and beats its incessant rhythm throughout . "White Owl" sits on the branch of an old birch tree and watches in stoic silence as the songs play on to their conclusion but never really leaving somebody who has not only heard...but listened and experienced.

Mythillogical is a kind of "sonic biography" of the turbulent years surrounding Ethereal's coming out. The first song penned for the album by the young poet was "Far From Eve" which was eventually recorded as her first single in February of 2002. The song was much different then, more acoustic and folk-oriented. That first recording has since been replaced by the rock-oriented album version. The oldest members of the lyrical girl tribe are "Far From Eve", "White Owl" and "Never A Lover". They are the matriarchs who laid the foundation for the the next nine girls to follow and take shape. "Athene" literally burst out, taking a form of her own and was released as Ethereal's second single in May of 2005, the first single being "White Owl" released in October of 2004.

"They are my lyrical song tribe. They all belong together as part of a group. Together, they tell the entire tale yet each individual song has a life force all its own. When lyrics come to me, there is no stopping them. These songs came to me over a two year period yet I knew they belonged together because they all had a common thread."

Below Ethereal gives a little insight into each song.

Never A Lover (The Caged Girl)

"This song is about failed relationships and losing trust and faith in love. It is also about finding strength and catharsis in music. "

Far From Eve  (The Garden Nymph)

"The inspiration for this song came from a fleeting romance that lasted exactly 2 months and 2 days."

 White Owl (The Crone)

"This song is about the path not taken and the struggle to choose between what you believe is right and what your heart desires."

 Satellites  (The Zodiac Twins)

"This piece is a personal story that I wove into the struggle between two goddesses in love with the same mortal being. Ahh, the ever-fabled love triangle."

 Mythillogical (The Sage)

"This is song who weaves it all together. It’s a tale that says you can’t be innocent forever."

 One Cigarette (The Mystery)

"Some encounters are so fleeting, yet so passionate that they last for eternity. From fire to ash, soul love is permanent and ever-changing."

"You're a scar that never heals"
"When your razor first cut me, it was poetry I bled"

 Athene (The Goddess)

"This song is a celebration of self and sexuality. It is a release from binds."

 Music Box (The Wounded Child)

"This is the story of child abuse and what kind of effect it can have on the mind of an adult who has never healed."

 Necessary Affliction (The Little Masochist

"A slave to the muse"

 Astral Plane  (The Angel)

"This is the story of a fated meeting, a love across lifetimes and the difficulty of enduring through the physical. When there is no mind, no body, no anger and no fear to get in the way of love; when there is only spirit, there is only truth."

Cry Your River (The Scorned Lover E-Explicit Content

"The song pretty much says it all in the lyrics." :laughs:

 Going Nowhere (The Enlightened One)

"This is a song about finality. It is about letting go of something that is unhealthy and harmful. Sometimes our most painful experiences can teach us the most."
